MuxLab Premiers New HDMI 2.0 over IP Solution at ISE Supporting 4K/60

Debuting at ISE this year is the MuxLab HDMI 2.0 over IP PoE Extender, 4K/60 (model 500779). This unique transceiver may be configured to operate as a transmitter or receiver to deliver HDMI at up to 4K (3840×2160) @60Hz (4:4:4) via a 1Gbps Ethernet Switch. AV can be delivered in one-to-one, one-to-many a­nd many-to-many configurations when riding on the IP-based network. HDMI sources and displays can connect to the transmitter and receiver from up to 330ft (100m) away from the Ethernet Switch using CAT5e/6 cable for added flexibility.  A directional IR port and an RS232 port allow for the remote control of end devices. Plus, two-channel audio can be inserted and extracted separately.

Because it can be configured as both transmitter and receiver, this device offers a very convenient way to build a custom IP-based system. Integrators can swap out or in the device as needed to build a small or large distributed IP-based system. Provided the bandwidth is supported, a multitude of devices can be combined in various ways, all riding on the same Ethernet network.  This device uses JPG2000 compression that results in a 4k/60 signal delivery at 16ms, approximately one frame latency. This makes it well suited for commercial applications including classrooms, digital signage, boardrooms, medical facilities and more.

When all devices are connecting sources to their displays, integrators can install the MuxLab ProDigital Network Controller (model 500812-US) to automatically identify all IP-based devices, then configure and control the entire system using a very user-friendly interface. This Controller works hand in hand with the MuxControl app, available for both Android and iOS systems, making the entire AV system accessible from anywhere using a smart device. This method of configuration and control vastly improves the entire end user experience, enabling integrators to turn over even a highly complex system with the confidence that they will be able to operate it easily.
