MuxLab Revamps MuxControl App, Includes New Features for Automating Pre-Set Tasks
MuxLab has moved to improve the access and control of AV over IP systems by introducing new features that enhance the performance of its MuxControl app. The recent upgrades are part of MuxLab’s broader effort to give users comprehensive control over their systems while enabling complete mobility. The remote access to MuxLab’s ProDigital Network Controller’s (model 500811) interface configurations proves particularly useful to those wanting smart phone access to all the control capabilities that the Network Controller offers.
On top of the improved collaboration between the Network Controller and the app, this updated version supports a series of automated tasks using preset configurations. This allows users to pre-load standard connections or control commands by location or in general and execute them with a touch of a button on the app. Displays can be powered on and sources can be assigned to a display instantaneously. These are but a few of the series of control presets that are typically supported by RS-232 and IR interfaces.
“In a restaurant or sports bar, for instance, a manager can execute a preset that automatically turns on a few displays or all the displays on a video wall to a particular sporting event airing at a specific time,” explained MuxLab’s Director of Product Development, Joe Teixeira. “The idea is to greatly simplify system access and control and make it seamless to operate in a very user-friendly way.”
MuxControl allows users to create their own unique, virtual remote controls with these and other commands, completely tailored to them. Buttons can be customized by size, color, placement and shape to make a remote control created by the user, for the user.
While MuxControl is designed to be accessible to the average user, system integrators can also pre-program the app and hand it over to their clients as a value-add for greater mobility and system control.
In addition to these customizations, MuxControl supports the full range of MuxLab’s AV over IP product line. Because some of the newer products support multi-view features when creating video walls, MuxControl gives users a lot of control over the various types of video walls they can create with multiple displays in various configurations. All of this is managed by a visually appealing system that can be configured exactly to the environment. Users can use a room template or simply take a photo of their location and upload it. Next, they select their equipment and place it on the image, which vastly simplifies system control. For those managing AV systems in different rooms or installations on the same network, a new feature allows users to swipe right between rooms that have been created in the app, great for quickly accessing different systems.
Like most app updates, this new version of MuxControl was also finely tuned for overall performance and is available for both Android and iOS systems.
