MuxLab Launches New CCTV Power-Thru Converter Balun

MONTREAL, CANADA — MuxLab Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of the newest addition to its CCTV family; the CCTV Power-Thru Converter Balun (500024-CNV). The balun allows video and remote power to be transmitted via one Cat 5e/6 cable therefore eliminating the need to install multiple cables in analog security and surveillance environments.

The 500024-CNV converts 24V AC to DC in order to allow 12V DC cameras to be remotely powered from a central 24V AC CCTV power supply. The CCTV Power-Thru Converter Balun is installed at the camera side and works in conjunction with MuxLab’s CCTV Power-Thru Balun (500024), Passive CCTV Power Integrator Hub (500136), or Passive CCTV Hub (500130) for a complete cabling solution.

“MuxLab’s goal is to provide complete cabling solutions to our users and this new balun works in conjunction with some of our existing products to provide just that”, said Marc Bohbot, MuxLab’s Director of R&D.

The balun supports video up to 2,200 ft (670m) via Cat 5e/6 UTP, and transmits 24V AC up to 795 ft (242m) @ 400mA max.
