MuxLab Demonstrates Four HD-SDI Cameras Connected Live to its 6G-SDI Extender Over a Single Fiber Optic Cable

LAS VEGAS, NV – MuxLab, a leader in broadcast, digital AV and CCTV solutions, has expanded its line to include new cost-effective signal distribution products for the broadcast marketplace. Flexibility and reliability remain paramount in an industry seeking high quality yet affordable products.

The MuxLab 6G-SDI Extender over Fiber Optic transports four HD-SDI streams at 1080i, two 3G-SDI streams at 1080p or one 6G-SDI stream at 4K using a single fiber optic cable.

The NAB demo at booth #SL16012 will showcase four HD-SDI cameras connected to MuxLab’s 6G-SDI Fiber Optic Transmitter (model 500732-TX). All four live feeds will extend long distance over one fiber optic cable to a 6G-SDI receiver unit (model 500732-RX), which outputs to four HD-SDI displays.

Using OM4 multimode fiber cabling, extension up to 400m (1,300ft) can be reached for 6G/3G/HD-SDI (model 500732), and up to 40Km (132,000ft) can be reached if using singlemode fiber for 6G/3G/HD-SDI (model 500732-SM40). A CAT5e/6 model is available (model 500730) supporting an extension up to 150m (500ft) for 6G/3G/HD-SDI.

“The SDI products are very well suited for broadcast, mobile broadcasting vehicles, studio-to-studio production, post production, live events and numerous other applications,” said MuxLab President, Daniel Assaraf. “They support all SDI configurations (using 1, 2 or 4 BNCs) up to 4K.  Automatic SDI link recognition and configuration and RS232 pass-through makes them ideally suited for next generation broadcast implementations.”

MuxLab is also showcasing two additional products, the 6G-SDI Fiber Extender Kit and the 3G-SDI to HDMI Converter.

The 6G Fiber Extender Kit (model 500712) extends 6G/3G/HD-SDI up to 20Km (60,000ft) over one singlemode fiber optic cable.

The 3G-SDI to HDMI Converter (model 500717) extends 3G/HD-SDI up to 90m (300ft) over RG-6 coax cable with the added benefit of converting SDI to HDMI to be used with a lower cost HDMI display.

“MuxLab’s aim is to bring high quality connectivity solutions to the broadcast market that provide alternative extension methods,” added Assaraf.  “We take pride in what we do, and it is reflected in our ingenuity and in the quality of our workmanship.”

Attendees are invited to booth #SL16012 to experience the live demo and additional products on its varied line-up of broadcast solutions.
